When we design a part, it is common that we need to consider various factors that may be important for this component, such as application, operating environment, availability, costs, etc. The same goes with making a part during a machining process. Before starting the work, we always need to consider which material would be better for such component, and how to machine the work piece in a more efficient way.

Machining Process
Nowadays the need of complex structural parts is constantly increasing, as you can see many of them being used in different applications, such as Aerospace, Electronics, Autopilot Radar System, etc. To make a high precision component efficiently, the skill of machining process would be highly required. If a machining process is well-designed, it would save much more costs than expected, especially for mass production. QY Precision has dozens of CNC machines at work, including the latest 5-axis CNC machines. We also have a team of experienced engineers, CNC machinists and programmers to give you supportive advice. If you’re interested, make sure to check our service for details.

Raw material and cutting tool
Raw material is important for both the machining difficulty and the part itself. For example, aluminum alloy has good properties and is easy to be machined; Stainless steel is harder for cutting tools to cut, but has excellent corrosion resistance; Bronze and brass Titanium possesses high strength, light weight and heat conduction, but it’s so hard to machine that only special cutters can be used to do the job.
Better choice of cutting tools helps ensuring the completion of the machined parts properly, furthermore to lower machining cost. For example, ball end mill is used in places that doesn’t need sharp end; drill bits can be used in holes, and chamfer mills are used to make chamfers; reamers are less common like previous ones, but they are useful in widening a hole while keeping tight tolerance.
As this article suggests, proper choice in processing and material is important in CNC machining, and of course, they are important in other manufacture methods as well. QY Precision has always dedicated to making all kinds of metal parts by various manufacturing, such as CNC machining, stamping, die casting, steel casting, etc. If you’re interested in more details, welcome to check our service and samples.
